HOUR BUILDING IN HUNGARY

After a long search on the internet, browsing among different avion related forums I decided to focus my search on Hungary for hour building. It has the best prices in Europe, a vast G airspace, cheap food and accomodation, lots of sunny days and a great tradition in general aviation. Most schools are based in former Soviet miltary airports with 2500/3000 meters runways and closed to commercial aviation! I still have no personal experience regarding flight training there but I met some CPL students, while I was in Budapest, and they recommended to train there.

Here are some of the schools offering both training and aircraft rental:

PANNON AIR - http://www.pannonair.hu/

Located at Tokol (LHTL), not far from the capital Budapest. Modern and well maintained livery (they have their own mechanics who care for their fleet every day and keep aircraft always safe and ready to fly) of Diamond aircraft: several DV20, DA40 and DA42.

They offer 10 hours on the DV20 for 1099€. If buying more hours a further discount is possible. There's a small and cosy hotel at less than 10 minutes walk from the school.

CAVOK AVIATIONhttp://cavok.hu/aircraft-rental-prices/

Located at Godollo (LHGD), near Budapest. Hour building starts at 95€/h on Aero AT3 or Tecnam P2002JF. Cessna 172 is available too, rate 125€/h. Accomodation near the airport is available.

SKY TAXIhttp://skytaxi.hu/english/index.en.html#

They're based in Kaloksa (LHKA), some hundred kilometers South of Budapest. A huge fleet of Cessnas and one diesel-powered Piper PA28. Rental starts from 99€/h on C152.
One hour on a C172 or PA28 will cost you 115€.
Accomodation near the airport is available.

AEROPARK VRSAR

After a long time I'm finally adding some new interesting content to this page...

I visited this nice little airfield in Vrsar, Croatia during my summer holidays in
a nearby village on the Adriatic Sea.
I met some very friendly people who showed me the airport and explained me
their activities. It's a must stop for the GA pilots! Great service, friendly staff
and just few minutes away from the wonderful Croatian beaches.

It's also been the base for the Redbull air race pilots, which was held last spring
in Rovinji, Croatia.

The main reason why I decided to visit this place is their open-air museum with
some nice planes which are possible to visit. They currently have 9 planes but
they have plans to install more aircrafts for exposition in the near future.

You can see some pictures below:

Cessna-152 from Carenado

So, let's put aside soviet planes for a bit.I want to show you a simulation of a classic plane, probably the most used in flight school for PPL training. I tried different versions of C-152, but the one from Carenado seems to suite me best. Great graphic, ultra realistic sounds, and what's more important, some excellent flight dynamics. I flew a cessna and I know what flying means. Of course a simulation will never give you the same feeling of real flying, but this aircraft responds much more realistically to your inputs than any other 152 addon. Very pleasant to fly!
